5 Warning Signs that You Might Have Adrenal Fatigue

5 Warning Signs that You Might Have Adrenal Fatigue

“Am I tired or am I dying?”

That is an extreme question, but it shows the confusion many people have about their medical conditions. Many people have symptoms without knowing what they mean. Stress puts an enormous strain on your body and can impact everything from mood to your appetite to sexual experiences such as having erectile dysfunction. Due to the general pace of modern life and the stress many people experience, Adrenal Fatigue is common.

In this article, we will go over what Adrenal Fatigue is and the most common warning signs that you may have it. Remember, you won’t need to have each symptom to experience the condition and have an impact on your health.

1. Still Tired After Sleeping a Full Night

We have all had a long night and had to get up early the next morning. You feel tired, sluggish, can’t think as easily, and generally feel rundown. If you feel that way after getting a full night’s rest, you might have a problem. We can all feel tired every once in a while, but if that is every day, you may have Adrenal Fatigue.

2. Light Sensitivity

Many people with Adrenal Fatigue are also sensitive to light. Sodium and potassium imbalances can cause this sensitivity. These minerals help with pupil dilation, the changes in your eye that help you to see in different light intensities. When your body feels stress, you burn through some minerals, including sodium and potassium,  quickly.

3. Feeling Sluggish in the Afternoon

Similar to the first symptom, many people feel rundown by 3 pm. Many people go for their afternoon coffee to keep them running. For people with Adrenal Fatigue, your body may be stressed due to unstable blood sugar levels. Blood sugar crashes after sweet meals can cause a blood sugar crash.

4. Craving Sweet or Salty Snacks

This one can be tough, because that can apply to most people. When your body has a blood sugar crash, it will crave sweet or salty foods to replace what it is missing. Be on the lookout for these cravings as telling of your overall deficiencies.

5. Not Feeling Hungry Until the Afternoon

Your adrenals and natural hormones keep your body on a regular rhythm. When they get mixed up, things start to fall apart. Your cortisol levels should be high in the morning then level off during the day. Someone with Adrenal Fatigue may have a low cortisol level in the morning causing their hunger and energy levels to be low. Imbalanced cortisol levels have also been linked to sexual issues. If you are experiencing any sexual problems such as erectile dysfunction or difficulty achieving or maintaining an erection, this could be a sign of Adrenal Fatigue.
